Customer Service passed away after a long struggle with bad attitude and laziness for the past twenty years. Loved ones will miss Customer Service deeply and will continue to try to bring it’s spirit back.  Customer Service was always the life of the business-outgoing and happy who always took a client’s feelings and concerns into consideration.

Actual date of birth is not known yet, it is reported that Customer Service began life in 1909 when one William Boyce, was lost in a London fog and late for a business appointment. Out of the fog came a boy in uniform, who offered to guide Boyce to his appointment, and did — and then refused a tip because, as he explained, he was a Scout.  Since this beginning Customer Service strived to meet and exceed all of the customer’s expectations.  In the past twenty years this became a tough uphill battle with the works of the internet and people caring much more about the cheapest price vs. quality of products and services.  Adding value with one-on-one relationships became even tougher with the outsourcing of call centers to other countries.  People began to expect less and that is what they were getting.

Customer Service trained and worked with companies throughout the nations to better enhance what they offered.  The stage was set, however, customers had been given a taste of no-to-little service for less money and that is all they were willing to pay.  Customer Service made a turn for the worse when service people began to think little of completing their responsibilities, or imposing directions on their customers. They began taking or accepting ineffective measures, just to ‘get rid’ of a customer problem. Statements like “You have to” and “Get this” became more common.

Forced into retirement, Customer Service diligently tried to make a come back yet fell to the decease of That is Not My Jobitis.  CS was Preceded in death by friends Thank You, Your Welcome, Respect, Loyalty, Relationships, Quality vs. Quantity, How May I Help You.  Survivors are Cheaper is Better, I Don’t Know, Never Apologizing, Me First, Email and Text Messaging Communication.

Memorial Services will be around the world and can be seen every day at any hour.
